this date in 1878, the Treaty of San Stefano was signed, marking the
liberation of Bulgaria from nearly five centuries of Ottoman rule. This
day stands as a powerful symbol of national awakening, resilience, and
the restoration of Bulgarian statehood.
For
generations of Bulgarians, March 3rd has embodied the price of freedom
and the enduring spirit of a nation that preserved its language, faith,
and identity through centuries of hardship.
