On May 13, an exhibition dedicated to the legendary Bulgarian illusionist Mister Senko - born Evstati Hristov Karayonchev (1905–1987) - will open at Kino & Bar Cabana in the park area surrounding the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia.

The exhibition features vintage posters from the magician’s career, provided by journalist Dragomir Draganov. Organized with the support of the Sofia Municipality, the display will remain open to visitors until May 27, according to a press release issued by advertising agency “8 pm”.

Just two days after the exhibition’s opening, on May 15, cinemas across Bulgaria will premiere Semkata: A Film About Mister Senko, directed by Stanislav Todorov-Rogi. The documentary was created to mark the 120th anniversary of the illusionist’s birth, commemorated in 2025.

Mister Senko achieved an extraordinary artistic career. The illusion that brought him international fame and astonished Hollywood audiences was his act Removing the Head. With this performance, Mister Senko received a special award from the American Association of Magicians in Indiana in 1961. Among his other celebrated illusions were The Electric Chair and Sawing a Woman in Half with a Circular Saw.
