Prominent cultural figures receive the Badge of Honor by the President

On the occasion of the Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture May 24, President Iliana Iotova presented the Badge of Honor to prominent figures in the field of culture and education.

Among those awarded are prominent musician and composer Mitko Shterev, the long-time secretary of the "Zarya" community center in Haskovo Alexander Milushev, poet and publicist Atanas Kapralov, Dr. Veselin Alexandrov for his socially significant donation activities, Dr. Elena Kantareva - an artist-restorer, and public figure Dr. Ivan Angelov.

For a significant contribution to the popularization of the Bulgarian language and literature, the Badge of Honor of the President will also be presented to Prof. Ge Zhiqiang - a Bulgarian language lecturer who has trained specialists at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
