Annual Yogurt Festival starts in Momchilovtsi in Bulgaria's Rhodope Mountain

The annual “Yogurt Festival - Culture and Traditions” will take place from today through August 30 in the village of Momchilovtsi, Smolyan Province. The festival begins at 4:00 p.m., with the official opening scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Held under the slogan “Momchilovtsi - Cradle of Longevity and a Healthy Lifestyle,” the event is organized jointly with Chinese company Bright Dairy, which has successfully marketed dairy products under the “Momchilovtsi” name in China.

As part of the partnership, the festival’s program each year features Chinese performers, a Chinese Culture and Crafts Pavilion, and culinary workshops showcasing traditional Chinese cuisine in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains.

The program also includes exhibitions by local dairy producers, craft markets, folk music performances, and the popular beauty pageant “Miss Rhodopes - Queen of Yogurt.”
