Heavy traffic reported at Kapitan Andreevo and Kalotina border crossings

Heavy traffic is reported at the border with Turkey at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint, in both directions for passenger cars, as well as at the Kalotina checkpoint on the border with Serbia, where traffic is heavy for vehicles leaving the country, the Directorate General of Border Police said.
Traffic is proceeding normally at all border crossings with Romania, Greece and North Macedonia.
Over the past 24 hours, 23 people were injured in 19 serious road accidents, with no fatalities reported, according to Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry. In Sofia, there were 26 minor and three serious crashes, leaving three people injured. Since the beginning of August, 613 serious road accidents have been recorded, resulting in 31 deaths and 759 injuries.
A total of 96 fires were extinguished across the country over the past 24 hours, the Directorate General for Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported. No deaths or injuries were reported. Thirteen of the fires caused direct material damage, including two in residential buildings. Emergency services also carried out 33 rescue and assistance operations.
